Stay at Home Book Tag

What time is it? What day is it? Common questions we’re all asking ourselves while we’re locked inside. I found this tag onReading with Wings, and it was created by Princess of Paperback on youtube. I knew I had to do it.

Laying in Bed- Book You Could/Have Read in a Day : Shatter Me: Tahereh Mafi

This may be a controversial answer after my Imagine Me review, but I find these books super easy to fly through. I read Ignite Me in one sitting, as the writing style, being a poetic self consciousness, is so easy to read quickly.

Snacking- A Guilty Pleasure Book: A Curse So Dark and Lonely

I don’t let myself feel guilty about what I read. You can read any genre, any age range that you enjoy! A Curse so Dark and Lonely is a series that come’s to mind. It’s a YA retelling of beauty and the beast, and I think it’s such a fun, delicious read. A Heart so Fierce and Broken wasn’t as dark as the first one, but I enjoyed it so much!

Netflix- Series You Want to Start: The Winner’s Trilogy

After falling in love with The Midnight Lie, I knew I had to get a copy of The Winner’s Curse.  It’s a slow burn fantasy, which follows Kestrel, as she battles between two choices, join the military or get married.

Deep Clean- Been On Your TBR for Ages: A Gathering of Shadows

I went on my Want to Read shelf on Goodreads, and went to the earliest date added. Tragically, the Winner’s Trilogy has been on my TBR since August 18th 2016, but to avoid the same answer, A Gathering of Shadow’s was added on the same day. I had mixed feelings about A Darker Shade of Magic, but as one of my early dapples into adult fantasy four years ago, I didn’t appreciate it as much. I want to re-read book one before getting to this one, hopefully at some point this year.

Animal Crossing- A Book You Recently Bought Because of Hype: Stalking Jack the Ripper.

If you’ve been here for a while, you’ll know back in the day I did a blog tour post for Stalking Jack the Ripper, and chapter notes, and I still! haven’t! read! it! The reader shame is real, and after a very difficult hunt to get the hardback edition, I finally grabbed a copy.

Productivity – Book You Learned from or Had an Impact on You: A Court of Mist and Fury

Crescent City was one that came to mind, as I found that book super empowering, but ACOMAF really helped me. I read it when the book came out, and I found Feyre’s journey in it so comforting, enlightening and reassuring. I definitely learned some lessons from her that help me today.

Facetime – A Book You Were Gifted: City of Bones

I’m really lucky to have been gifted a lot of my books by my family for birthdays and Christmas. One of the first books I was given was City of Bones. That book got me to where I am today, it ignited my love for reading, stared my passion and collection, which led me to start a blog, want to be an author and study English at university. It’s definitely not the best book out there – love you TID – but I’m so grateful for the day I was given it. Thanks Mum!

Self Care – What is One Thing You Have Done Recently to Look After Yourself?

Animal Crossing has been a life saver! I’ve also been doing a lot of skin care and recognizing. To me, there’s nothing more theraputic than putting on a face mask and tidying my room, or sorting through one of those drawers you throw everything into and think, awk I’ll get it later.

BONUS – Name a Book Coming Out Soon: Blood and Honey

This is coming out September 1st, and I am so excited! I read Serpent and Dove last month, and it was a five out of five stars. The magic system was amazing, the character dynamics and tensions were great. I highly recommend  it! If you don’t know, it follows Lou, a witch, and Reid, a witch hunter, as they are forced into marriage.
